16th Annual Building Bridges Conference Brings Students and Industry Professionals Together

LOS ANGELES – USC Grand Ballroom at the Tutor Campus Center was the setting on Wednesday, March 6 for the 16th Annual Building Bridges conference, an annual networking event intended to educate pharmacy students about industry and managed care pharmacy.

Dozens of working professionals (most of whom are USC alumni) from pharmaceutical industry and managed care and 100 students took part in the event, organized by student members of USC’s Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and Student Industry Association (SIA) chapters.

The program began with speakers from industry and managed care, who shared their insight on the roles that both fields play in the current healthcare environment. The remainder of the event was dedicated to roundtable sessions, in which all the attendees had the opportunity to network with one another.

“As one of the largest networking events that the USC School of Pharmacy holds, it has been successful in helping students develop meaningful connections with industry and managed care professionals and providing insight to students interested in exploring career opportunities within these fields,” says third-year student Brian Lee, president of USC’s AMCP chapter.
