The 2023 Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences White Coat Ceremony for the PharmD Class of 2027 will take place on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11 AM on Broad Lawn at the USC Health Sciences Campus.

All guests must arrive in advance of the start time. If you arrive after the processional, you and your guests will have to wait until after the ceremony begins before being seated.

Students will receive their white coats on the first day of orientation at check-in. On the day of the event, students will line up on Zilkha Walkway toward the Center for Health Professions (CHP) building. Staff will be on hand for guidance and further instructions.

Guests will be directed to a separate area to line up. We recommend you give your guests your bags and other items.

Popovian to Speak at White Coat Ceremony for Class of 2027

Robert Popovian, PharmD ‘93, MS ‘97, founder of the strategic consulting firm Conquest Advisors, will speak at the USC Mann White Coat Ceremony for the PharmD Class of 2027.

Yes, GradImages will take photos of each student as they are coated. We know that your guests want to take pictures too!  Due to strict fire code and safety regulations, they will not be permitted to stand or mingle in the aisles and/or other prohibited areas.

Tickets are required and each student will be given 6 tickets.

There will be complimentary parking on Friday, August 18th at the Biggy Parking Structure (P8). Please do not park in “reserved spots” and observe all posted signs.  There is also parking on the street – please follow the signs as street parking is governed by the City of Los Angeles, and not USC.

Yes, but NOT inside the ceremony area.   Either leave them in the car (preferred) or ask your guests to keep them outside the ceremony area, although there is no guarantee that they will not fly away or someone else will take them. 

Wheelchair accessible seating is available.

Absolutely no to balloons, blow horns, whistles, kites, big backpacks, large hats, bulky items, speakers, or large signs.

No. Faculty will be mingling among the guests, so we encourage you to take pictures.
