Students Provide Free Health Screenings at 2017 LA Times Festival of Books

Dozens of USC School of Pharmacy students provided free health screenings to 514 participants at the annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at USC on Saturday, April 22.

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is the largest book festival in the nation, drawing roughly 150,000 visitors to the USC campus.

Its health fair is the largest of the dozens of free community health fairs USC School of Pharmacy students participate in throughout the year, checking community members for diabetes, hypertension and measuring body fat levels, volunteer services made possible by the dedication of student pharmacists and pharmacist preceptors.
