The MS in Medical Product Quality (MPQ) offers advanced preparation for careers in quality assurance and quality control in the biomedical industry and government. This is a growing field and employers are not able to find an adequate number of highly trained professionals to meet current needs.
Students in this new program learn about the regulations and guidelines that ensure the quality of drugs, biologics and medical devices in the US and internationally. During the program, students develop an understanding of the basic principles essential for the interpretation and implementation of quality practices and quality systems. Ultimately, the program prepares students as professionals responsible for the testing and oversight required to ensure the safety of healthcare products.
The MS in Medical Product Quality is designed for students with a background in biological, pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences and biomedical engineering. The 32-unit program not only educates students in the theory behind regulations which impact product quality but also provides real-life practical tools useful in their industry careers.
Courses are offered on weekends to accommodate working professionals and the program allows students to set their pace by choosing their course-load each semester.
