Healthcare Leader and Entrepreneur Eileen Goodis to Deliver 2018 USC School of Pharmacy Commencement Address

Eileen Goodis, healthcare leader and entrepreneur, will be the distinguished alumna speaker for the USC School of Pharmacy commencement on Friday, May 11. She will speak at the commencement ceremony at 2 pm on Broad Lawn on the USC Health Sciences Campus.

“Dr. Goodis embodies the values of a Trojan—faithful, scholarly, skillful, courageous and ambitious,” said Vassilios Papadopoulos, dean of the USC School of Pharmacy. “Throughout her career, she has shown how hard work and dedication lead to success. I know the graduates of all of our degree programs will be inspired by her message as they set out to make their mark in the world.”

Goodis has been a healthcare leader and entrepreneur, having built two pharmacy services companies that were both acquired by public companies. As President and CEO of Home Pharmacy of California, she built an industry-leading regional home infusion pharmacy company which provided infusion, nutritional and specialty medication and services to patients in their homes. She led the company through major changes in the healthcare environment concluding with a strategic acquisition by Walgreens Health Services. She also founded Patient Care Pharmacy, an institutional pharmacy company, which provided comprehensive pharmacy services to long term care facilities. She orchestrated a strategic sale to Integrated Health Services, a public company that owned a national chain of sub-acute hospitals.

She received her doctorate in pharmacy at USC School of Pharmacy where she also completed a residency in long term care pharmacy practice. She has served as Chair of the USC School of Pharmacy Board of Councilors, is an adjunct professor of clinical pharmacy and received the President’s Award at the 2015 Alumni Association Volunteer Recognition Awards.

A Los Angeles resident, Goodis is involved in a number of professional and community organizations including Young Presidents Organization, Iris Cantor UCLA Women’s Health Executive Advisory Board, Women’s Leadership Network which mentors women in transition and Downtown Women’s Center, where she is focused to help end the cycle of homelessness for women in Los Angeles.
