Dr. Michelle Chu joined the faculty at the USC School of Pharmacy in July 2015 as Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy. She went to the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Pharmacy where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009 and completed postgraduate residency training in ambulatory care pharmacy practice at the USC School of Pharmacy in 2010. Since then, Dr. Chu has worked as one of clinical pharmacists to manage high risk patients with multiple uncontrolled chronic disease states at various safety net clinics, affiliated with the USC School of Pharmacy until her recent appointment.
Dr. Chu's current clinical practice is based at the internal medicine department at Keck Medical Center of USC where clinical pharmacy services are provided to manage various disease states, including anticoagulation, diabetes, and hypertension. She is currently collaborating with heart failure team at Keck to improve and streamline post-discharge management at outpatient and quality improvement team to validate and assess current health quality measures at Keck internal medicine.
