Carla Blieden, PharmD, MPH, AAHIVP, completed her doctor of pharmacy, master of public health and PGY1 pharmacy residency in ambulatory care at the University of Southern California. She is certified as an HIV pharmacist and has worked as the clinical pharmacist at the Maternal, Child and Adolescent/Adult Center, a family-centered HIV clinic in Los Angeles since 2009. Blieden also works in the LAC+USC Specialty Endocrine Clinic, and past experience includes work in safety-net clinics, hepatitis C clinics and as a community pharmacist at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. Her primary focus at USC is the integration of public health within the school curriculum and she precepts APPE students and PGY1 residents at her clinical practice sites at LAC+USC.
Blieden is the director of student outreach and community health at USC Mann. It is her vision that the school’s health fairs demonstrate improved health outcomes by serving as an avenue through which participants are linked to and re-engaged in healthcare.
