Daniel Kudryashov, PharmD ’15, has won the Good Government Student Pharmacist-of- the-Year Award from the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Academy of Student Pharmacists. It includes a $1,000 scholarship and was bestowed at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition.
Kudryashov’s advocacy includes serving as director of Legislative Affairs for the National Community Pharmacy Association student chapter, representing the American Pharmacy Student Alliance at the Board of Trustees of the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) and founding the CPhA Grassroots Advocacy Liaison Program. In addition to his studies and research, he works as an intern pharmacist at the Keck Hospital of USC and the Compounding Pharmacy of Beverly Hills.
On the state level, Daniel serves as Chair of the CPhA Policy Committee, member of the Committee on Healthcare Reform of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) and Legislation Officer for the California Health Professional Student Alliance. “Daniel has coordinated student and pharmacist advocacy efforts throughout Southern California at every step of the legislative life cycle of Senate Bill 493 to ensure that pharmacists are recognized as healthcare providers in California,” said USC School of Pharmacy Dean R. Pete Vanderveen. “I believe his efforts have played an important role in passage of this historic bill. I am very proud of his great work.”
