PhD AdmissionThe USC School of Pharmacy is home to a vibrant, progressive research program preparing the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists, pharmacologists, health economists and translational scientists.

As the nation’s top private pharmacy school in NIH research funding, students are exposed to a broad range of research facilities and projects and provided with ample opportunity to develop their research potential. Students are encouraged to publish papers and present their work at national and international meetings, and consistently win fellowships and national awards recognizing their exemplary work.

Graduate Student Oral Defense Presentations

Doctor of philosophy candidates in the graduate program are required to complete a thesis/dissertation based on original investigation under the direct supervision of a faculty member. Presentation and oral defense of an accepted dissertation is also required and provides an engaging format to share some of the promising research that School of Pharmacy doctoral students undertake.
