Laura Issagholian-Havai

Biography

Dr. Issagholian is the HIV Clinical Pharmacist in the Infectious Disease Department at Kaiser Permanente, Panorama City. She provides patient care and clinical services to hundreds of HIV positive patients seen in an ambulatory care setting. The patient population served varies from acutely ill AIDS patients with opportunistic infections to chronic stable HIV patients with comorbidities (dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, benign prostatic hyperplasia, etc.). She also works with HIV negative patients referred for HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis, Chagas Disease, or Hepatitis Coinfections. She is a proactive member of the Kaiser Permanente Regional HIV Pharmacist group and AIDS Taskforce and helps to develop, edit and approve HIV protocols, policies, and guidelines.

She is passionate about teaching and precepting future pharmacists. She offers rotations in Ambulatory Care, HIV Medicine to USC Pharmacy Level IV students. She is also an active member of the KP Panorama City Residency Steering Committee and offers a rotation in HIV medicine to KP PGY1 Pharmacy Residents.

Dr. Issagholian received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the USC School of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with Kaiser Permanente, Valleys. She is certified as an HIV Expert by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
