Research Interest
Dr. Dopheide's work focuses on clinical research on inpatients with psychiatric illness. She has investigated the tolerability of Depakote loading in patients with bipolar disorder and has examined the use of psychotropic medications in hospitalized persons with eating disorders. Upcoming projects include investigating the impact of expanding clinical pharmacy services at LAC+USC hospitals.
Dr. Dopheide has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, textbooks and educational publications, on topics including ADHD, depression, sleep, insomnia and drug-induced psychiatric disorders.
Biography
Dr. Dopheide received her Pharm.D. from the University of Nebraska in 1988 and completed a residency in psychiatric pharmacy practice at the University of Southern California in 1989. Dr. Dopheide is a board certified psychiatric pharmacist and provides clinical services for adults and children with psychiatric illness at LAC+USC Medical Center. Dr. Dopheide is also actively involved in teaching pharmacy students, medical students and psychiatry residents in the clinical setting.
Dr. Dopheide's areas of expertise are child/adolescent psychopharmacology and general inpatient psychopharmacolgoy. She is active in ASHP, NAMI and serves on the board of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP).
