Rush University Medical Center in the Chicago, Illinois is seeking a Corporate Director of Pharmacy for their 669-bed not-for-profit medical center. The facility is renowned nationally and internationally for its standards of excellence in several service lines, has a strong history of research, and has been recognized for its excellence in patient and quality of care.
The Corporate Director will be responsible all central pharmacy operations including the main pharmacy satellites and all clinical programs. The department uses the EPIC suite of clinical software and is advanced from an automation perspective. They have a dispensing robot in place, a drug carousel, utilize bedside bar coding, have an electronic medication administration record, and have computerized physician order entry.

We are a commercial stage molecular diagnostics company specializing in the field of pharmacogenetics, or PGx. IDgenetix, our PGx product testing portfolio, enables personalized therapeutic decisions for patients suffering from some of the most prevalent clinical conditions in the United States, including cardiovascular disease, neuropsychiatric disorders and pain.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Respond to internal customer (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Corporate Communications, Business Development) and external customer (i.e., healthcare practitioner) medical information queries regarding products. Provide verbal and written clinical and technical information to internal and external customers as it relates to Company products.

•Assist with development and maintenance of pharmacogenetic algorithm including critical review of the scientific literature to identify and validate clinical application and close interaction with software development team to implement logic needed to drive algorithm reporting messages based on complex combinations of patient genetics, concomitant drugs, and other factors.

•Provide clinical pharmacy and pharmacogenetic information support to customer service and sales team, including performing literature searches as needed, assist in the development of slide presentations regarding products, and provide medical review for Development team projects.

•Provide interpretive analysis of pharmacogenetic test results in support of customer programs, clinical trials or publications.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: PharmD, PhD, or BS/MS Pharmacy degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in clinical practice and/or the pharmaceutical industry. Prior industry experience in bioinformatics is strongly preferred.

Director of Pharmacy – San Francisco Health Plan

The San Francisco Health Plan is a managed care health plan designed by and for the people of San Francisco. Our mission is to provide affordable, high quality health care to SF residents and support our safety net.

As the Director of Pharmacy, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all aspects of the pharmacy program for SFHP members. Responsibilities include managing the daily pharmacy program operations and the contracted Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM). You will manage and lead the Medication Therapy Management Program and oversee any groups delegated to provide a pharmacy service. You’ll also provide clinical support to the Health Services team and other SFHP departments. The Director of Pharmacy ensures achievement of organizational and department goals through vigorous monitoring of program and department metrics and he/she is responsible for regular analysis of pharmacy data, and for researching literature to identify quality and cost containment opportunities, in collaboration with the clinical pharmacy staff and Medical Directors.

The Director of Pharmacy also serves as the Residency Program Director for the Managed Care Pharmacy Program and for the leadership of the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) managed care pharmacy student rotation.

Requirements:
• Registered Pharmacist (Doctor of Pharmacy Preferred), MBA a plus.
• Experience with utilization management in a health care delivery setting
• Experience in an HMO or experience in managed care setting, a plus. Medi-Cal preferred.
• Experience with state and federal insurance programs, preferred
• Extensive knowledge of pharmacy workflow from prescription to claims submission and authorization request processing.
• Ability to supervise 6 staff ( 2 clinical pharmacists, 1 pharmacy resident, 2 specialists and 1 coordinator) and communicate effectively with staff, management and executives.
